Bishop Martel Cole is the Founder and Senior Pastor of Mount of God Tabernacle Church, a growing ministry with locations in the United States, Jamaica, Belize, Canada, and the Bahamas.
A humble and gentle servant of God, Bishop Cole is known for his steadfast commitment to preaching and teaching the uncompromised Word of God. His ministry is anchored in a clear biblical conviction: "If it’s not in the Bible, we shouldn’t teach or preach it.”
Born and raised in Bungotown, Amity Hall, St. Thomas, Jamaica, Bishop Cole grew up in poverty and experienced the hardships of limited resources from an early age. He walked to school barefoot and learned firsthand the meaning of perseverance through lack. Those early experiences shaped the compassion, humility, and empathy that continue to define his life and ministry. Because he has personally known struggle, Bishop Cole has a sincere heart for people, a deep understanding of their burdens, and a strong commitment to community outreach and service.

Saved at the age of 17, Bishop Cole devoted his life to the Lord early and has remained faithful in service ever since.
Ministry, Leadership & Family Life
Alongside decades of faithful ministry, Bishop Cole has also served as a manager at The Ritz-Carlton for more than 30 years, continuing to exemplify excellence, leadership, and integrity in both ministry and profession.
Bishop Cole is a devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose love for family is deeply rooted in his values and faith. He is married to Minister Melinda Cole, and together they have two sons, one daughter, and six grandchildren.
Above all, Bishop Cole’s greatest joy is found in serving the Lord. His favorite pastime is ministry, his favorite “vacation” is ministry, and his favorite food is what he lovingly calls spiritual food—the Word of God—with his wife’s curry goat and boiled green bananas as a close second.
